Why is Tulsa Leadership Vision needed at this time?
Unlike the Federal and State Governments, which have the expertise of many private sector "think tanks" at their disposal to help their leaders solve complex problems or approach government with innovative ideas, local governments are without this resource.
Whether it is to raise private funds to research public policies, provide consultancy support for a local government challenge, tapping into the private sector experience, or to provide a a platform of
advocacy for change, local government leaders need all of this private sector support through an organization such as TLV which can provide private sector credibility.
Not every answer to a problem before government is a political answer. The leaders and supporters of TLV agree that the mission and activities of the organization will steer away from political solutions
and instead steer toward analysis and recommendations which study the best practices and those approaches which will make the most sense and provide the best for the community.
What will be the focus of Tulsa's Leadership Vision?
TLV plans to research, develop, and communicate the pro-businesses / high quality government approach to organizing and managing local government and the entities under the authority of local governments.
Taking the information provided by independent research, surveys and polls, economic development analysis, and nationally recognized best practices in managing governments today, the communication plan will be to reach
key public opinion leaders in order to build a broad consensus of support for its ideas. The goal will be to influence the legislative and administrative process of local government.
If need be, this effort will be extended into issue advocacy, citizen education, and voter mobilization.
